Lifeline WA provides essential crisis support and suicide prevention services to members of the community.

The 4km walk-run was the most popular category with the Mineral Resources team, with 170 employees taking part; while 110 joined in 12 km walk/run; and 7 stepped up to the challenge of the 21km half marathon.

Justin Nuich and David Hudson chose to take on the ultimate challenge, the gruelling 42km marathon.

“We are proud to have our staff represented in each of the four categories for this valuable cause this year,” said team captain and Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Sean Duffy.

MRL employees, James and Rajesh.

“It was a great day, and we are looking forward to supporting more events that promote the health and wellbeing of our employees and members of our community in the future.”

Lorna MacGregor, Lifeline WA CEO said the organisation relied on community contribution, corporate partnerships and fundraising activities, to provide its services to those in need.

“We want all Western Australians to know that there is help 24 hours a day, every day of the year, no matter where you are calling from,” she said.

“We are grateful to Mineral Resources for choosing to support Lifeline WA by participating in the City to Surf.

Thanks to them, a team of 289 Mineral Resources staff and their family members have been fundraising for Lifeline and, through wearing their shirts, will help us share the message that help is available and encourage people to call 13 11 14 if they need help.”

Mineral Resources has been a participant in the City to Surf event since 2013. The number of MRL participants has continued to grow each year.
